JRFD Offline Knowledge Base

Purpose: a clean offline library for wildfire operations, officer development, training, administration, apparatus references, and Joe Rich local knowledge.

Designed for use with Project N.O.M.A.D., Internet-in-a-Box, a shared station computer, USB drive, or local file server.

Suggested workflow

  1. Put official PDFs, maps, manuals, and forms into the matching folders.
  2. Keep file names clear and searchable.
  3. Add a short note to the Update Log whenever something is added or replaced.
  4. Avoid storing private member medical, discipline, or sensitive HR information here unless access is properly controlled.
  5. For AI search, prefer PDFs, Markdown, text files, and clear file names.

Naming format

Use names like:

  • 2026-06-11_Wildfire_Practice_Three_Forks_Creek.md
  • JRFD_SOG_Wildfire_Response_v2026-01.pdf
  • E52_Pump_Panel_Quick_Reference.pdf

Versioning

Use dates or version numbers in the file name. Keep old documents in an Archive folder if needed.
